Town are among a number of clubs reported to be keen on Rotherham United centre-half Clark Robertson.

According to The Independent, Portsmouth remain the frontrunners for the former Scotland U21 international, who is out of contract having turned down a new deal with the Millers.

However, Robertson’s hometown club Aberdeen are said to have made a formal approach, while Town, Polish side Slask Wroclaw and Israeli club Hapoel Jerusalem are all reported to be keen.

Robertson, 27, started his career with Aberdeen before moving on to Blackpool in 2015 and then Rotherham in 2018.

The 6ft 2in tall central defender made 16 appearances for the Millers in their 2020/21 Championship relegation campaign.

Monkey_Blue added 19:28 - Jun 1 Excuse me while I don't jump up and down over this one. We need to sign players very good at this levers but capable of being similar the level above. Think mgreal, Venus, Holland, Wright, Stewart, Clapham etc…. All of whom were good enough to get us up a league and then play us into Europe at the level above. We need to be shopping for three or four players all of whom have a higher Celling that average or less In the championship. It's like driving a car, you have to look ahead of the car in front to be a good driver. We have the chance to create a long term progression which shouldn't involve promotion then a massive turnover in players. That rarely works

It's possible to impact the immediate future whilst building long term which is apparently what the owners want. Cook just wants to ensure he doesn't get sacked soon or have to leg it. 7 clubs in 14 years hardly inspires players when he demands commitment and loyalty….. unless it's all different because it's us?? 🤔
